Your Itinerary
DAY 1 UK/Malaga
Fly to Malaga, where you will be met by your Tour Manager and transferred to the hotel in Lanjaron, where we enjoy a welcome drink and stay for seven nights.
DAY 2 Poqueira Gorge & Villages
This is the ideal base from which to explore the delights of the region. Each walk is run by official walking guides who can show you the hidden gems of the area, and you will come away feeling like you’ve really seen and experienced the real, rural Andalucia.
Today we visit the Poqueira Gorge and walk through the mountain villages of Las Alpujarras – Pampaneira, Bubion and Capileira. From Capileira we follow the path to the River Poqueira, with breathtaking views across the gorge. In the afternoon we enjoy a tasting of the delicious local ham, Jambon de Trevelez, during a visit to a local producer. At dinner tonight we enjoy a performance of traditional Spanish music.

DAY 3 Nerja & Salobrena
The delightful coastal resort of Nerja is perhaps most famous for the Nerja Caves, said to be some of the best in Europe, which boast fascinating ancient wall paintings and artefacts. We include a tour of the caves before visiting the town of Salobrena, which is dominated by a splendid Moorish castle and lush sugar cane plantations.
DAY 4 Orgiva
Spend the morning browsing among the varied stalls of Orgiva’s traditional weekly market. Just off the main street, you’ll also find the beautiful 16thcentury church, or if you fancy a break, there are plenty of welcoming cafes in which to relax. This afternoon we head to Soportujar and then trek through picturesque scenery to Lanjaron, enjoying stunning views of the Guadalfeo River. Tonight we enjoy a traditional Flamenco show at the hotel.

DAY 5 Granada & the Alhambra Palace
Today we enjoy a guided walking tour through Granada and visit the famous Alhambra Palace, an exquisite example of Islamic architecture. We have plenty of time to explore this lovely city this afternoon.
DAY 6 Lecrin Valley
Our final scenic walk takes us through the picturesque villages of Acequias, Murchas and Melegis, and we admire the rolling hills and cliffs, citrus groves and olive plantations all around as we go. DAY 7 Lanjaron
Situated at the foot of the Sierra Nevada, Lanjaron is well known for its spring water and spas. Today is at leisure to relax at the famous Lanjaron Spa or explore more of the delights of the town such as the castle of the Moors and the Park of Salao. Tonight we enjoy a farewell barbecue.

DAY 1 - Nashville
Depart on your scheduled flight to Nashville. On arrival transfer to your hotel for a three night stay.
DAY 2 - Nashville
Nashville is both the capital of Tennessee and the country music capital of the world. We include a full day sightseeing tour visiting Fort Nashborough, the original site of the city’s pioneer settlement, the Parthenon replica, the Country Music Hall of Fame and RCA Studio B.
DAY 3 - Lynchburg
Join an optional excursion to the Jack Daniel’s Distillery, in the town of Lynchburg.
DAY 4 - Memphis
Morning departure to Memphis for a two night stay.
DAY 5 - Memphis
Memphis stands proudly on the bluffs of the mighty Mississippi. A full day sightseeing tour is included, featuring the famous Riverfront, Beale Street (birthplace of the blues), Sun Studios and, of course, Graceland, the home of Elvis Presley. In the evening you can enjoy a special, optional visit to a Blues Club on Beale Street.
DAY 6 - Vicksburg
Drive to Vicksburg for an overnight stay, with sightseeing included. The town is nearly surrounded by the National Military Park, which is as much part of Vicksburg as the historic streets and houses in the centre.
DAY 7 - Natchez
Drive to the charming port of Natchez, straddling the Mississippi River. A tour of Natchez and an elegant antebellum home will be made before continuing into Louisiana and on to New Orleans. Three nights’ accommodation has been arranged.
DAY 8 - New Orleans
You are free in New Orleans to explore.
DAY 9 - New Orleans
Take your seat to enjoy the fabulous Mardi Gras parade. The highlight of the year, planning for the next event will be well underway! You can’t help but be carried away by the spectacular costumes, loud music and smiling faces of the people in the procession - it’s an experience you’re not likely to forget in a hurry!
DAY 10 - New Orleans/UK
