Huskies and the Northern Lights

Nothing quite compares to the experience of travelling on a sled pulled by a reindeer or a team of huskies through magical snow-covered scenery. Northern Norway, and in particular the city of tromso, has some of the most dramatic scenery and wildlife in the world, all of which are waiting to be explored on this magical holiday.

Surrounded by beautiful, clear blue fjords and majestic mountains, the lively city of tromsø is known as the ‘gateway to the Arctic’. It’s the perfect base for your explorations of the region, surrounded by beautiful fjords and stunning wilderness.

This is the perfect winter wonderland holiday, with the added advantage that your tour guide will introduce you to the sami culture and way of life. Overnight Tromsø.

Delve into the culture of the Sami people on a full day at Camp Tamok. have a go at reindeer sledding, an integral part of sami culture, as you’ll be master of your own reindeer sled for a fantastic drive in pairs through the beautiful surroundings of the park. then take the opportunity have a go at throwing a lasso – an essential skill for sami reindeer herders.

As the sun starts to set over tromsø, you will drive out of the city to the Tromsø Wilderness Camp where you will put on a cold weather suit and boots (provided by the camp), ready for your husky sledding adventure. Nothing else in the world can compare to the feeling of being sat in a sledge covered with reindeer skins to keep warm, hearing nothing but the sound of the huskies running and the sledge carving across the snow-covered ground.
