Antiques Short Break with Eric Knowles
Antiques Experience short break with Eric Knowles and Warner Leisure Hotels.
Go right to the heart of the great British potteries.
One of the best known of the Antiques Roadshow experts, Eric Knowles' compendious knowledge of all things antique and artistic is legendary, honed during his long career at Bonhams and fired by an infectious enthusiasm.
And when he is not appearing on the show or valuing artefacts at Bonhams, Eric can often be found hosting tours of museums, galleries and historic buildings all over the world. On this break, he'll be guiding you around the Potteries - where centuries' old traditions of excellence have not been forgotten and where he'll provide insights into how British pottery assumed such an important international reputation.
You'll visit the Moorcroft design studio and pottery, now over one hundred years old and still producing superb work, The Gladstone Museum and The Wedgwood visitor centre.
There will also be presentations about the world of art and an opportunity to have your family treasure or car boot bargain valued at Eric's own one-man "roadshow".
This is an opportunity to not only discover more about one of the world's most important centres of ceramics, but to delve right into the heart of a fascinating subject in the company of one of the art world's most engaging and knowledgeable characters.
"You can't put a price on some things, like the joy that people get from an antique or piece of art," says Eric.
