Every year without fail the Show attracts top quality horticulturists from all over the country, not only amongst the 90+ professional nurseries that exhibit in the two flower halls, but also in the huge Specialist Societies' marquee.
Here some 20 societies hold their own show-within-a-show, where visitors can talk to a wide variety of experts and enjoy the varied and colourful displays of fruit, flowers and vegetables. The societies represented range from cactus and carnations through to fuchsias and fruit, and from bonsai and bees through to dahlias and delphiniums.
Over 70% of the show is under cover, most of it is on hard surfacing, making it particularly suitable for disabled visitors and a grand day out - whatever the weather. A huge range of gardening accessories are on sale too: a chance to pick up the pot you've been looking for, or put in an order for the summerhouse you've been promising yourself.
There are a host of gifts to buy from a range of art and craft stalls- and make sure to leave room after a delicious lunch to visit the Yorkshire food marquees - where you'll find local cheeses and gourmet sausages, award-winning pies and dry-cured bacon and hams. Delicious!
